No experience? No problem! This camp is perfect for absolute beginners. We'll guide you step-by-step through the exciting world of Java programming, using the awesome ROMI robot to bring your code to life. Get a head start on FRC: Learn how to structure your robot code using object-oriented programming and learn the powerful WPILib library. Collaborate with fellow coders in our Code Jam Sessions and receive expert feedback during code reviews.
To further expand your programming skills, register for the Autonomous Programming Camp.
This unique opportunity is offered by the Robotics Center at Kettering University, led by an experienced computer programmer, Kettering Alumni, FIRST mentor, and sponsored by GM and Magna.
Designed for students in grades 8-12, this immersive Kettering University camp offers two ways to experience campus.
Residential Camp: Stay overnight in our residence halls and experience life as a Kettering Bulldog. Includes meals in the dining hall and single person rooms in the dormitory. Residential Camp is only available to students entering grades 8-12. The cost is $1070, with move-in on July 23, 2026.
Day Camp: Prefer to commute? Our day camp option allows campers to be dropped off and picked up daily for $700, while still enjoying the same hands-on learning and campus experience. Includes lunch daily in the dining hall Due to dietary restrictions, all attendees should bring their own snacks/beverages for their rooms.
