Expanded Python - Automation, Sensors, & Workcells Camp - Residential Camp

Monday, July 28, 2025 at 9:30 AM until Thursday, July 31, 2025 at 4:30 PMEastern Daylight Time UTC -04:00

    Kettering University
    1700 University Ave
    Flint, MI 48504
    United States

Prerequisite: Intro to Python - Controlling 6 Axis Arms

This camp continues where the Intro to Python Camp ended. DRIVEN students will continue their Python learning as they are introduced to the concept of a programmable logic controller (PLC). Participants move from controlling only the 6-Axis Arm to incorporating additional input and output devices, like sensors, motors, and pneumatics, using the VEX CTE Workcell kit to create more complex automated workcells.

Students will learn about the mechanisms and components that make up workcells, the real world connections to factory automation, and the computer science concepts that allow automated systems to function. Then they will apply everything they have learned to complete a Capstone project using the engineering design process.

This unique opportunity is offered by the Robotics Center at Kettering University, led by an experienced computer programmer, Kettering Alumni & FIRST mentor, and sponsored by GM and Magna.

Registration is no longer available because the registration deadline has passed.
